The Young Scholar Prize 

 

Fully paid conference participation in Fukuoka (Japan) between November 21-23, 2019

Academic publication

The Young Scholar Prize will be awarded to two (2) young scholars whose papers have been selected as the most promising scholarship among the participants. Eligible to apply for the Young Scholar Prize are

 

  • Master students

  • Doctoral students

  • Post-Docs (earned PhD no longer than 5 years)

Submission of Young Scholar Paper Proposals

The organizing committee will review papers within the broad topic of 'multidisciplinary perspectives on algorithms: regulation, governance and market'. Priority will be given to papers with a particular focus on one of the following themes:

Technologies

Security, Privacy, Transparency

Ethics

Human-Machine Identities & Interfacing

Social Inclusion/Exclusion

Business

Regulation

The Future?

 

 

Selection criteria are:

  • Originality and innovativeness of the work

  • Relevance to the theme

  • Gender balance

Submission Guidelines

Papers must be submitted via email to the following address:

info-conference[at]kyushu-university-law.com

 

The paper must be written in times new roman, font 12 and should be between 15 and 25 pages (footnotes included). Each paper must be preceded by an abstract of maximum 500 words.

 

The paper must also contain the following information:

  • The author’s name

  • The author's affiliation

  • A small biography (maximum 250 words)

  • A list of university education, indicating the year of graduation for each university level

Timeline

  • The deadline for submission of full paper

  • Successful applicants will be informed no later than 

 30 August 2019
